Barstash Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Your library stays under your control
Barstash is developed by BeaverCode. Barstash is an offline lyrics and audio workspace. It does not require an account or operate a backend for your library. The app does not send your lyrics, imported audio, recordings, preferences or search history to the developer. It has no advertising or analytics SDKs.
Information processed on your device
The app processes the text and titles you write, section labels, track notes, audio filenames and metadata, imported beats, microphone recordings, playback positions and loop settings. It also stores preferences, optional search history and recovery snapshots. These are used to provide editing, search, playback, recording, autosave and recovery on your device.
Permissions
Microphone permission is used when you choose to record a flow. Access to files and a folder you select is used to import audio and text, store the library, and create or restore backups. Background playback uses Android media controls and a playback notification. Barstash does not need access to your contacts, location or advertising identifier.
Storage, retention and deletion
On Android, Barstash uses a private working database and a library folder you choose. Imported beats, completed recordings and library snapshots are saved in that folder. Work remains until you remove it. Moving a track to trash retains it for recovery; permanent deletion removes its database records, while shared beats and files still referenced elsewhere can remain. Earlier library snapshots and separate exported backups may also contain older copies. Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete the selected library folder. To remove all copies, manage the selected folder and any backups as well as the app's private data. Back up wanted work before removing files or clearing app data.
Exports and other apps
When you choose to export, share a file or open a saved web link, Android may hand it to another app. File providers or folders you select may have their own synchronization features. Those apps and services handle information under their own policies. Barstash itself does not automatically upload or synchronize your library.
Keeping your work safe
Access to the app's private storage is controlled by Android. The library folder and exported backups are accessible according to the location and permissions you choose. Barstash does not promise end-to-end encryption or a separate encrypted vault. Protect your device and keep backups of work you want to preserve.
Support
Contact info@beavercode.nl for privacy questions or support. If you contact support, your email provider and the support recipient process the message so that we can reply. Include lyrics, recordings or backups only if you intend to share them for help.
Google Play and Android
Google Play distributes the app and Android provides device services, permissions and sharing. Information processed independently by those services is governed by their own privacy terms. This policy describes the Barstash app.
Changes
This policy will be updated when the app's data practices change. The date above identifies the current text.
